KU Teacher Murdered, Suspect Remanded.

Antiterrorism court has issued police remand till June 29 of a suspect who’s accused of murdering a Karachi University teacher.

Sami-uz-Zaman was arrested for purportedly shooting down Dr Syed Waheedur Rehman On April 29, Near Karachi Institute of Heart Disease in F.B area.

The police brought the suspect in the court informing that he was an employee of Karachi University who has revealed his connection in the case.

Suspect was remanded by the judge of antiterrorism court in police custody for two weeks.

The court remanded another suspect for double homicide case. Umair Hassan, suspect, was involved in several cases on target killing.

The police wanted his custory in a case related to killing two men in Gulshan-e-Maymar in 2013.  The same suspects were also arrested for murdering 3 policemen on M.A Jinnah road, and 2 policemen in Arambagh area.

Sabeen Mahmud, the founder on T2F was shot dead on April 24. It’s believed that these suspects have a connected in Sabeen’s murder case.

Pak and India increasing atomic armory despite global disarmament trend.

Stockholm International Peach Research Institute (SIPRI) reported that Pakistan and India are expanding their atomic armory, despite an international movement towards disarmament.

“Though the number of warheads fell from 22,600 to 15,850 between 2010 and 2015 but India (90 to 100) and Pakistan (100 to 120 warheads) carried out extensive long-term upgrading programmers” Reported by Swedish institute which is dedicated to research into conflict, armaments and arms controls.

Shannon Kile, SIPRI researcher said that the trend demonstrated that the nuclear weapon- owning states were still reluctant to surrender their arsenals in the predictable future.

35 suspicious people arrested by Police: Karachi

KARACHI – Police have captured 35 suspicious men from Malir area.

A whistleblower informed about the presence of the criminals in the area. Upon this news, police seized Shah Latif and Razzaqabad training centers and arrested 35 suspicious people.

Arrested people have been shifted to undisclosed place for interrogation purpose.

New York anti-poverty concert, headlined by Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeren, English singer-songwriter will headline the Global Citizen Festival. It is a free concert in New York pointed at rallying support to fight global poverty.

Ed Sheeran’s album ‘X’ was last year’s top-seller in Britain.

The festival is free, with fans earning tickets not through money but through activities aimed at eradicating extreme poverty in the world.

They event has been held annually since 2012.

Jay Z, rap artist headlined last years festival. Audience was surprised by only only seeing his wife Beyonce on stage but Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who pledged to work to improve his nation’s problems.
